Thanks for the comments, personally I'm thrilled with it.

Cajunscot, yes, the tartan will be registered with the STA once it has been woven. They require an actual woven sample.

I'll tile the sett to show a larger sample this weekend.

    Cheers,
    John

    Wow.
    Nothing more. Just Wow.

One of these days I'm going to have to finish/tighten up the family geneology and have a chat with Matt ... get a tartan for my paternal line.

It's a beauty. You must be thrilled, indeed. Talk about jonesing for a kilt, tho'.

    What a wonderful resource

I’m glad that resources like Matt keep giving of their time and knowledge. I’ll lift one to Matt this Hogmanay. By the way, what a wonderful tartan, Owl of Oban.

Here is the tiled version, to show more than just one sett square.

Yes, Sherry, jonesing is hardly the word. It will be 6 months before I actually have the kilt, with weaving time and then kilt waiting time....but the family has waited 300 years for a tartan, so I suppose I can wait 6 months...

John, that is a great looking tartan. Please post some pics when you get your kilt. You must be going through some serious jonesing, but it will be well worth the wait.

I suppose this is as good a place as any to ask this question and to direct it to Matt. I understand I'm asking for speculation at most. If and when the Scottish government provides for a single registrar for tartans, do you think new tartans registered with the STA will be included.
