Got Pattern?
I posted in another thread, that some friends and I are going to attempt a Burns Dinner. I am currently working out the details, and building a list of those that would want to attend should I be able to pull it off. I was talking to my Friend Ian, at lunch today, and he suggested that we get a sort of "Baghdad Tartan". He would be willing to buy one, as well as a few others. Unfortunetly, the last kilt I had made here in Iraq was my leather kilt, and that was made from giving the craftsman my utilikilt. It took him three tryes to understand the pleats but in the end, I received a quality knockoff. I am unable to get in touch with that tailor, but one of the iraqi girls says that with a few photos and our sizes, that they should be able to make something for us.........................So here is me begging............ Is there a kilt maker out there, that wouldn't mind emailing me a simple pattern that an Iraqi seemstress could look at, to make traditional style kilts for the burns supper? Of course thankful photos of the event and stories will be sent back in return. xoxooxoxoox Jay

Hi Jay
I would be delighted to send you a copy of my kiltmaking book if you think it might be useful. I have no idea whether someone could get the idea from the pictures, but there are lots of drawings. If you send me your mailing address, I'll pop one into the mail for you in exchange for pictures of your event!
