Umm, with all respect kilted Stuart, think if you read Mark's post you'll see that he paid $300 for a kilt over a year ago. The website says over a six month wait, and it appears from Mark's posting of the sequence of things he has been a LOT more patient than most of us could be laying out $300 in advance then waiting a year for a product. Even knowing he's waiting for the work of a craftsman.

From the sequence it appears that he's received, at best, overly creative reasons for the delay.

He has concern that the craftsman is even in business...a fair question when postings to his blog have stopped, postings to this board have stopped, and his shop is now vacant with only the guess that "maybe" he's working at home.

How does the guy call an empty shop after his email's are not returned. Hopefully, someone on the board from the area, or who knows Bear, will be able to help Mark figure out if he's just got longer to wait, or if Bear's able to refund his $300, or if he should just accept that the $300 is gone.

Right now, Mark knows no more about his $300 than when he first posted, his first post to this board. Hopefully, we can help him somehow.

And of course we all hope Bear's okay and still cranking out kilts...but no one seems to know for sure.

Think there's been plenty of patience shown, some information about what is going on would be helpful.

I tried calling his cell phone and he's not answering that either... I hope he's OK.

Anyone know if he is posting on Bravehearts or any other forums? I know he hasn't posted on kiltreview.

I hope he hasn't collapsed under a ton of orders, I nearly did prior to xmas, and I'm on a much needed break.

    Hope he's OK

I hope you get either your money or your kilt soon. It doesn't sound promising though and that's too bad. I was kind of thinking about the macbitseach tartan

I haven't seen Bear posting anywhere. This is actually rather worrying. I hope nothing has happened to him.

I can confirm a few things regarding Bear and Bear Kilts:

    1. He is still alive and kicking

    2. He moved the shop back to his home.

    3. He doesn't have internet hook up.

    4. Bear Kilts is still in business and he intends to keep his promises.

    5. The Phone number is still in working order.

Please, if you don't have information in regard of Bear and Bear kilts, please do not start any rumour. Please don't pm or email me about Bear Kilts because I am not an employee of Bear Kilts, but a personal friend of Bear. I am doing it to help a friend.

    Thanks Raphael,

I think we all consider Bear a freind and support him. Its lack of information that starts rumors. You've taken care of that. No small thing.

If he's still a year behind on orders looks like a long way for him to go to catch up and maybe a low profile would help him gain ground.

When I'm without Internet service I go to the library and use theirs for free. Have found that works well in my travels too.

If you see Bear, maybe you can pass that suggestion on to him...but guessing he knows that's an option...pretty basic.

I still have a saffron Bear kilt on my wish list, but have been waiting for improved delivery times...don't think I could be as patient as Mark has been...too much Scot blood in my veins.

Looks like Raph has set the record straight. I am locking this thread now since the question of where is Bear has been answered and I dont want rumors getting started like Raph said...thanks Raph. Give Bear our best until he is back online again.
