Friends of Laphroaig?

I have to admit that I have never been a fan of **cough cough** Scotch Whiskey. (from now on referred to as Whiskey) as I believe I have seen the light.

A neighbor of ours who (retired and the neighborhood handyman) did some plaster work for us and when he wouldn't accept any payment I went to the ABC store to get some whiskey as payment. I ran across a display of Laphroaig and decided that would be nice as a gift. On second thought I bought myself a bottle too. The earthy, musty or peaty taste (however you want to look at it) is certainly an acquired taste but da*n it's good.

On a more er....unfortunate note the night I went over to the neighor's to deliver the bottle was the night of the last Redskins playoff game. After the game he was coming back downstairs (at a friend's) from the washroom and took a tumble. He's been in a coma ever since and has had two brain surgerys.

Sorry, this post is just way weird. I've had more than a couple of whiskeys and am worried about my friend.

I'm sitting here sipping a wee dram of Laphroig 10 year old and read your post. Sorry to hear the bad news.
