			 any suggestions

well, i've decided to buy another kilt. i'm damn well convinced to get a stillwater, prolly the heavyweight. anyone have a suggestion, comment or word of advise before i order. this will be my first stillwater, and only my second kilt. i currently have a traditional scotttish 5 yard heavy wool kilt.

Well, my wife just ok'd another kilt purchase by me, and my plans are for a Stillwater Standard in the Hunting McLeod tartan. I'd buy two if they'd start making the standard in the Gordon tartan.
I guess your decision will boil down to what type of kilt you want...a traditional heavyweight kilt, or a lighter weight casual.

Just a couple of comments about the black heavyweight stillwater I have. (black on black)
Good value for the money. However I think heavyweight is a slight overstatement... Something you'll notice if you own a traditional heavyweight handsewn. The selvedge is uneven. It comes with decent leather straps but with cheap buckles. The rise area was left bulky.

That said... with a bit of touch up work, it's quite acceptable as a non-formal kilt. Good ka-boom for the ka-ching!

yeah, my wife ok'd it for me too, her words were " if you want "another one" then go ahead a get it " ..she's a german girl, and this is all new to her..anyway i noticed that the stillwaters are a set lenght at 24 inches.. now i have a concern about them fitting well, as im a taller guy at 6 foot 4 and 300 pounds. im comfortable wearing my kilt the top edge at my belly button, not down on my hips..

I'm really sold on Stillwater kilts. They are not $500 taylor mades, but they are a great bang for the buck. I have 5 of them and plan to order 2 more. I have the Black Watch 16 oz wool heavyweight and it is a thing of beauty. Stillwater has turned me into a convert to traditional style kilts.

					Scibaer,
It don't matter...there are gonna be LOTS of kilts in your life ;)

I've never plunked down for a Stillwater because of the one length deal, just doesn't work for me.

I have kilts from nine different kiltmakers now...all willing to make kilts to fit me lengthwise as well as longitudinally (if that's a word...)

So make your wish list and triage it from your heart with a peek at your wallet, then dive in.
