Not a big cell phone fan. I try to have a little bit if time to myself.

Yet I do see that a cell phone could present a problem.

The possible problem with radiation from a cell phone only occurs when the phone is generating a signal. I.e., when you are talking on it. Which is difficult to do while it is in your sporran. You may addle your brains by taking on one too much, but it won't addle your, um, bits while it lies dormant in the sporran. Or you might turn it off and only activate it when you want to call someone else and to Sheol with them calling you.

I suppose that you might want to avoid using the "hands free" attachments when it's in your sporran. Though in any case, people using those always give the impression that they're talking to themselves, and do you want to give that impression while you're wearing a kilt?

Not owning one of those things I have no fears from the possible radiation. Where I live there is no service.

I saw a guy on Discovery (Brainiac I think it was. You know the show that rings the doorbell of Science and runs away)
He tried to cook an egg with 100 mobile phones without sucess...So I don't think there is much danger here..I too have my mobil (Pssst same as Grahams) in my sporran. I've got 2 children aswell.

I never leave the house without my cellphone, but it's used mainly for emergencies or to call in to work for my next shift. While I'm working it's not turned on. In fact, most of the time it's not turned on. I just like to have it handy, just in case.

I always have a cellphone on or near me. When I'm at home it's usually clipped to my belt. But I almost always wear a jacket or blazer of some sort when I leave the house (I have a great photographer's vest for summerwear) so the phone goes in a pocket when out in the world.

And I'd never keep my cellphone in my sporran, mainly because it would get in the way of all the other cra* I store in there! :-)

I set my phone to vibrate, cancel call waiting and call answer. Post a sign on my back with my phone number "Call me"
Put the phone in one of the pockets in my sporran. I ignore all calls... but I'm smiling!!

    Unhappy Cell phones...Bah!

Never happen! I need the foil to make hats to keep "them" out of my head.

I'm forced to carry one in my current state of employment but that is it. It gets turned on at 7:30 in the morning and off at 5 and is never on on weekends. Cell phones have become the pager of the the 21st century and a horrible pain in the ***. I would even go so far as to ask for "no cell phone" seating at resturants if it were available. One of my frequent lines has become; "Put the phone down and drive you idiot!" If you know me well enough to call me then you have my work or home number. If I'm not there...leave a message.

Boy do I agree with that. My cousin is on a local police force and he tells me that far more accidents are caused by cell phone use while driving than drinking and driving now. Las year some woman was yapping on the phone, went through a red light she faied to notice and killed 3 people. I'm for outlawing phone use while a vehicle is in motion. You wanna talk on the phone? Pull over and park.

That's the law in New York, but the cops don't bother to enforce it.
