Hello. I have a lot of family in Kansas...and they're the ones that are most directly descended from the Scots but I'd vote them the least likely to wear kilts, though...pretty conservative bunch. Good to know that someone in America's Heartland is taking the initiative.

    Heartland...

Good to know that someone in America's Heartland is taking the initiative.
Hey now -- he's not alone in the "heartland"! Quite a few kilted lads next door in Missouri! ;)

Welcome, and being in the KC area, you might be interested in this:

Yeah...but Missouri is further East and goes a little more South than Kansas...wouldn't that make it more like "America's Pancreas-land"?

(You know, I can never figure out HOW to put one of those winky-smiley things in to make it clear that I am joking.....seriously, St.Louis is one of my favorite cities for food in the country....probably because it was the first place that I ever ate deep fried french toast in.)

Urgh...Missouri is just to the east of Kansas. ;) We share our western border with them. (plus a wee bit of Oklahoma and Nebraska)

GreenMan... welcome from an old Overland Park/Prairie Village guy. I lived there from 1962 to 1990 when I moved to Philadelphia. I still go back to visit all the time.

For your entertainment... "The Elders" are right there in your neck of the woods and are a wonderful group of guys! I know them and love the tunes.

My goal is to get back and eat some Gates' while drinking a Boulevard Stout while watching The Elders on-stage at the Irish Fest. May just have to work to make this one a reality this year!!!
