Boy do I agree with that. My cousin is on a local police force and he tells me that far more accidents are caused by cell phone use while driving than drinking and driving now. Las year some woman was yapping on the phone, went through a red light she faied to notice and killed 3 people. I'm for outlawing phone use while a vehicle is in motion. You wanna talk on the phone? Pull over and park.

Same here. I'm a first responder and I've seen more than my share of accidents caused by cellphone use. I don't use one while driving, I let my answering service take care of it.

One should be more worried about one's brain. "Official" reports to the contrary remember you are holding a microwave up to your ear.

The proof of damage from cell phones can be debated - some studied prove there is little or no problems created from use of the cell phone.

As far as phone use driving - It should always come down to priorities - Controlling a 1700 lb. 65MPH piece of reinforced metal down a road, or missing a word\message.

Whether it is eating\drinking\applying makeup\shaving\reading the newspaper\reading a map- DRIVING is why you are in the Car. It requires the highest amount of concentration.

You can point to accident causes all you want. Cell phone use does not call accidents. Stupid people cause accidents - thinking that call is more important that driving the car.

I'm not a believer in the radiation issues of cell phones. I worked as an air traffic controller for several years and rumor stated that with all the radar waves around it kills the male chromosome so you can only have daughters. Weeeeellll, 2 son's later I'm not convinced.

As far as esthetics goes, I feel that a neatly mounted cell phone on the belt can give a nice look to the kilt. Kind of shows people who may be looking (or staring ) that you're not trying to dress "ren fair". I believe it adds to the message that kilts are still a practical contemporary garment.

I totally agree. Most people around my area put their phones on the belts when they are wearing pants. When I am wearing pants or jeans or shorts, I do the same. And so with a kilt I continue to keep my phone on my belt. The only time I hide my phone is when I am wearing my historical repro' kilts.

I guess if I was going to a formal function and wearing a PC jacket with my nice tank, then I would hide the phone, just as I would hide my phone if I was wearing a tux at a formal event.

Oh, and yeah, I don't think cell phones put out nearly enough radiation to warrent being concerned where-ever on your body you keep it.

My cell on the belt if waiting for a call or in the sporran if not. I like talking to my family and friends, my boss can use voicemail.
As for safety, I give more thought about the RF from my HT than my cell phone

The possible problem with radiation from a cell phone only occurs when the phone is generating a signal. I.e., when you are talking on it.

A cell phone always emits a signal, unless it is turned off. This signal says: "I'm here! I'm here!" That's needed so the systems knows in which "cell" you are, so you can be reached.

I'm married too, but I don't need an electronic leash. My wife has a psychic leash on me that works fine. In fact, she knows where I'm going and what I'm doing before I do.
