I think is comes from the phrase "Keeping up with the Jones's". So you are "jonesing" or trying to keep up and anxious. That's only my opinion and I could be wrong ??:

This has been asked before so I'll just refer you to this thread. It basicly means to have an almost irrational longing for something.

Newly discovered vain streak
Addictive - its more than that.
I put on my just remade smaller kilt to walk to the shops and I HAD to pause to use the shop windows as mirrors to check that the pleats were hanging right - and then, as it grew darker I realised that the street lamps cast my shadow and I could see the kilt swinging as I walked. OOooooo.
I'm even sticking to the diet so as to optimise weight loss.
There is a heap of cloth and part make kilts entirely filling a chair - three feet high at least, and the expenditure on safety pins is rediculous.
The use of the iron has increased ten fold and the vacuum cleaner is choking on threads from straightening up the edges of cloth and the tab ends of sewing cotton.
Is there a twelve step program - or am I only just realising this is it for life?

I don't say it often but ROTFLMAO! I HAVE to print that out and post it somewhere where my wife will see it.
Thanks.

Crack me up too! Another version, with apologies to AA.
1. We admitted we were powerless over kilts, that our credit cards had become unmanageable.
2. Came to believe that Hamish could restore us to accessorized sanity.
3. Made a decision to turn our money and our trust over to the care of an experienced kiltmaker.
4. Made a searching and fearless inventory of our kilts and accessories.
5. Shared the results of our kilt inventory with others on kiltboards.
6. Were entirely ready to buy another kilt.
7. Humbly asked the bank to increase our credit limit.
8. Made a list of all friends who might enjoy wearing kilts and encouraged them to try one on.
9. Wore our kilts whenever possible, except when to do so would get us arrested or fired.
10. Continued to buy kilts and when our plastic was full took time to let it cool off.
11. Sought through prayer and mind control to motivate loved ones to buy us kilts for our birthday, Christmas, and Celtic holidays.
12. Having had an awakening of freedom as a result of wearing kilts sought to encourage others to wear kilts and attend many kilted gatherings.
And, the best cure for a kilt jones is to order another kilt!

Great! But you really need to switch Steps 6 and 7. A fly plaid just doesn't look right without a jacket.
Of course, if you get the fly plaid first, then you just HAVE to get a jacket so you can wear it!
