Thanks for your help I think the Gibbs tartan is a bit in your face as we say in the UK I like the Buchanan tartan

The Gibbs tartan is actually a variation of the Buchanan Old sett (Gibbs, Gibson, and other variations of the name being septs of Buchanan). So, if you want to see how it might look in a kilt, try and find pictures of kilts in the Buchanan Old tartan.
've never, to my recollection, seen this particular tartan woven in the modern colors. Personally, I really favor the weathered tones in this particular sett.
