Nathan Warmack received an apology

Absolutely Iolaus. People who would normally have see me in my kilt and thought "skirt", were made aware of the kilt by Nathan's story. If I had a nickle for all the people who came up to me and said "Nice kilt...hey did you hear about that kid in Kansas or somewhere?"

Event's have made him a "poster boy" for kilts. It's going to be critical that he keep his wits about him because a lot of poeple will be watching. It's a tuff task for a young man, but he's done well so far. He now knows not to allow the Press to sucker him into a bad photo and with a little help from friends will be able to demonstrate the respect for the Scottish Heritage and the kilt to those who think it is just a costume.

...sorta caught up on my sleep..but this week has been a long one (my work hours are like til 9:30 or 10:30 every night)..and I have meets up in Dallas this weekend and next weekend..so I haven't even bothered to unpack my suitcases except to wash a few clothes to put back in them...I don't land in one spot for very long. ;)

Hero: Nathan Warmack
You may have read about Nathan Warmack. He's the school pupil from Jackson, Missouri who wanted to wear a kilt to his High School dance so he could celebrate his Scottish heritage. Unfortunately this was not allowed by the school principal, Richard McClard (hmm…), because it was considered "disruptive" - Nathan was undiplomatically told "you can't go in here looking like a clown... it's not considered proper attire in my school."





Well, after a worldwide outcry and nearly 12,000 signatures to an online petition organised by the Clan Gunn Society of America, the Jackson R-II School District relented and is to allow Nathan to wear his kilt - and has offered a written apology.
