Absolutely Iolaus. People who would normally have see me in my kilt and thought "skirt", were made aware of the kilt by Nathan's story. If I had a nickle for all the people who came up to me and said "Nice kilt...hey did you hear about that kid in Kansas or somewhere?"
Event's have made him a "poster boy" for kilts. It's going to be critical that he keep his wits about him because a lot of poeple will be watching. It's a tuff task for a young man, but he's done well so far. He now knows not to allow the Press to sucker him into a bad photo and with a little help from friends will be able to demonstrate the respect for the Scottish Heritage and the kilt to those who think it is just a costume.

Coming in a little late on this Beth, but welcome to the maddening kilted world of all us happy kilt wearers worldwide.

You have much more energy than I do!
And more news on Nathan: He's a hero!
Heroes and villains: Nathan Warmack and John Prescott
BEN JUDGE
NB: we know that there are far more worthy heroes than those listed here - doctors, nurses, aid workers, Franck Sauzee, etc. Similarly, murderers, rapists and dictators are indisputably far greater villains. This column does not deal with them. It is designed to honour those who have caused surprise by their actions.
Hero: Nathan Warmack
You may have read about Nathan Warmack. He's the school pupil from Jackson, Missouri who wanted to wear a kilt to his High School dance so he could celebrate his Scottish heritage. Unfortunately this was not allowed by the school principal, Richard McClard (hmm…), because it was considered "disruptive" - Nathan was undiplomatically told "you can't go in here looking like a clown... it's not considered proper attire in my school."
Well, after a worldwide outcry and nearly 12,000 signatures to an online petition organised by the Clan Gunn Society of America, the Jackson R-II School District relented and is to allow Nathan to wear his kilt - and has offered a written apology.

Nathan already has a date for the prom & he went with her to the dress store because she wanted to make sure her dress was going to look good with his kilt.

Belated greetings to ya. Now it is time for Nathan's first lesson in being kilted with a lady...
Nathan, whatever you do, "DO NOT out shine your date". You'll never live it down.

on the other hand....she might appreciate the eye candy on her arm, being with a studly guy in a kilt. ...she'll be the envy of the ball.
