Yeah, Ron, you should have written acetic acid, or even ethanoic acid, instead of vinegar! ;-)

That no ice thing really hurts my feelings. I like mine poured over a couple of cubes of clean ice. And my tounge is just fine.

    Wink

If I'm drinking a blended whisky, I put ice untill the top of the glass, except for some special ones (12 years old or more).

For single malts, and those specials, I add just an ice cube on summers (it can be easily over 35ºC in August over here) or any in winters. I never added water apart of that of the icecube,... and i let it melt for some seconds before starting to enjoy it!.

Just as a curiosity, in Spain we use to say that there is an scottish said that states that:

    "The first whisky,.... with water,
    the second,.... without water,
    ...and the third....like water!" ;-)

    ¡Salud!

I know Sherry, thought about it, but then would have to explain what it is...love telling teenagers in group that's why drunks smell like vinegar...

If it's from my flask I drink it neat. But if I'm relaxing I often have my scotch with an ice cube. More often than not I'm uncomfortably warm unless it's the dead of winter and I like the cooling effect of the ice cube.

My body thermostat has always been just a bit out of wack.

And here I was this evening, happily quaffing a few Guinnesses (Guinni??). Now, I'll have to head to town and pick up a nice bottle of Jamesons and probably an Old Grouse as well. Not at the 'mo, of course, I can wait until morning. :-(
