    Ham,

There is an increasing number of 'micro breweries' in the USA, which brew some interesting beers. I managed to sample some from the Californian micro breweries when I was last out there, but I certainly wouldn't class myself as an expert on the subject.

    Regards,

    Rob

P.S. How is your back these days?

Don't wish to highjack this thread but, "Thank You" my friends. The sciatica is lingering and I am resorting to painkillers only at bedtime, but it is much, much better than it was. I am still severely missing my local walks and other 'public appearances'(!), and still have not been able to touch alcohol since before Christmas!

Sorry to hear about that. I also have a spinal injury that keeps me on painkillers (or more often just in pain, since the doctor I'm with at the moment is leery of giving out too much pain medication) much of the time, so I can empathize. My injury is in my neck, although I have some sciatica too. I was lucky though, because after misdiagnosis after misdiagnosis, I finally insisted on seeing a neurologist and he diagnosed the problem within 5 minutes and sent me on a course of physical therapy which pretty much stopped the agonizing pain and gave me back the full use of my right arm. My previous doctor, thinking the problem was muscular or arthritic in nature, had put me on heavy doses of ibuprofen, which does nothing to relieve nerve pain, so I was literally screaming in agony every night for about six months. There's nothing worse than having doctors insisting that there's nothing wrong with you when you know full well that there is.

Oops. Hehe, went off on a bit of a tangent there. Sorry to go into rant mode, but it's a sore subject for me (no pun intended). Anyway, I'll post it, perhaps with the thought that misery loves company.
