That's fantastic Glassman, I can relate to how good that must be.
I guess that something that is rare must be very special!

I can only wish for the time when kilts will be a common sight in our streets, how long will it take for men to wake up and see that kilts are for men to wear??
    Keep up the fyne work!

And living just down the road from Glass Man in Fairfax, VA I've yet to see anyone else wearing a kilt in NOVA myself!

I have seen a few other kilt wearers throughout southern California. My favorite place to wear my kilt for a reaction is to Disneyland. I have even seen four or five other kilted men walking around the Magic Kingdom. I rarely get any comments and I have never had a negative one (6' 5" 280lbs. may be the reason) but my girlfriend does claim that while the men are fairly discreet about their looking, the women are blatant in their full body inspection. It really does not matter if I am wearing a UK or a traditional kilt. I think some people just enjoy the change.

I guess that in "weird" Southern California, the kilt seems to be fairly normal as clothing goes.

I wonder if the same is true at Disney World. My wife is on me to take the family later this year. I will, of course, be kilted for the trip.

I wish I could run into another kilted fellow up here. So far I haven't seen any kilts on the street at all, aside from the local Highland Games.

Magnus, I have not been to Disney World kilted, but did make it to Epcot kilted in Oct of last year. Probably will be kilted in WDW when we do a trip in March or April.

    UK at Westhills

    Hey Al,

Was at Rona in Westhills about three months ago and there was a guy ordering supplies at the project desk in a utilikilt. Judging by the amount of sawdust, etc. on this kilt, he was in construction and wears it at work.

This is the only time I have seen an unexpected kilt out and about in Calgary. It was good to see.

I wore one of my Utilikilts out & about on New Years Eve - dress black befitting the occasion - standing on a open air subway platform at 3:00 AM was an interesting experience to say the least.

Got a couple of odd looks but very few comments as I am not exactly on the delicate side and have been known to strike terror into the hearts of small children in a single glance.

When i wore them back in the summer got nothing but favourable remarks and smiles (and more than a few inquiries as to where they could get one)

one of the benefits of living in NYC - nobody really gives a hoot!
