OK, done. 21.5 hours. All in all, I'm very happy. Two points to complain about: I need better straps and buckles. Don't like them. Second, the hole where the under apron strap comes through is not as nice as I would like. The hole will have to remain the same, while I will change the straps, at least, in short time.
Think I'll buy Barb's book as well, for neat tricks that I couldn't figure out myself.

Don't forget, I AM a beginner. With kilts, at least. However, the Mrs. liked it so much, that I've been given another mission: create 3 full women's outfits for our planned re-wedding in July. Hers and one each for our daughters. Pretty neat, considering the Mrs. is a full-blooded Mi'kmaq.
Wore it all last evening at home, regimental 8-) , and very comfy. The Mrs. and I got to talking about the whole thing and I'd be very surprised if she didn't support me wearing one full-time (or most of the time, anyway). Then again, could have been the Merlot speaking.
Pics as soon as I'm able. Next will be in heavy wool, solid, either green or blue(muted tones). Then again, maybe a Hodden. Our local Frenchy's(used clothing store) had about 50 dress jackets, both tweed and others. A Jacket project is coming shortly, me thinks. Oh, and sporran of course.
One thing, being your basic breed boy, I put little native touches in all my work and dress. Very common back in the day to see Highlanders and soldiers wearing native accoutrements with their kit. Hmmm, maybe a nice, small octopus pouch, or quill embroidered pouch as a sporran. Possibilities are endless.
