Wore my Chocolate Workman's UK to Whole Foods in Vienna,VA today. Though I didn't see any other kilts out, I did have a lady stop me and ask "What kind of skirt are you wearing?". She couldn't quite grasp the concept of a modern, American style kilt, but I was glad she asked and was able to talk to someone about it.

I do see some of you guys once in a while out and about in Denver area, but usually it's when I'm wearing jeans (don't have enough kilts yet to sacrifice any to paint/mud/etc).
On vacation at the moment in the South. Definitely a culture shock down here (S.C.). Maybe people wouldn't look so funny at a kilt-wearer here if I were wearing a NASCAR T-shirt with a rebel flag on it.... Fortunately, there is a Whole Foods within a reasonable distance, so I am able to obtain sustenance without grits & brown gravy - even though I do rather like grits anyway. :-)
Anyone here near Charleston? Where's a good pub?
