Trip to Office Depot in a kilt

I had to stop by Office Depot today to get some more mailing envelopes. Anyway, at checkout the clerk asked me where I'd gotten my kilt. He's of Scottish descent and has always wanted one. Of course I suggested several sites and also pointed him over here. Hopefully he'll join in soon.

I've worn my kilt to Office Depot many times... never a comment. Also worn kilts to Home Depot (and similar construction supply houses) many times with no reaction there either.

Now...... If you really want to test your mettle? Strap on your kilt and go to a Comedy Club and sit in the front row!

I plan to do that the next time Johnny "Bagpipes" Johnson comes to town.

I too have not had any comments while shopping, I really do not think that they noticed my kilt.

I did sit on the front row of a comedy club while kilted once. All that was said is that is really neat, also I was given a free drink because I was wearing it there.

Once I was at a store and the clerk said, "Where did you get that..." immediately I reached for my pocket for a UK card since I assumed he was about to ask about the kilt.

"...cool t-shirt?" he finished. Took me a minute to actually get my head around what he had asked.

I've noticed lately that comments about my kilts seem to go in spirts. May have several days where there are no comments, then several days in a row with comments. Wearing them in public has become second nature to me - don't know if this has anything to do with it.

I was wearing a utilikilt at home dispicable(depot) on monday one of the vendors asked me where he could get one of those "cool kilts". That started a conversation and I brought up "xmarks" as well. As a matter of fact I bring up X every time I start a kilt conversation.

I went to get my haircut the other day, and everyone in the barber shop thought I was a highland athlete. I had on my black UK, my homemade camo sporran, white cilt socks, an old t-shirt and my black shoes. They asked me where my 'whiskey and my bagpipes were?' and that I 'must be a real scots-man because I had my sporran', I just laughted , even with my back injury, I'm still must be a big guy.;)
