    Here's the site.

    ...and here's the logo.

Since it's already commercially available, I don't think it'll work as an XMarks member identifier because someone could've gotten it elsewhere. I hoped he would respond to a market oppertunity, and produce a special run of ".com" shirts (lord knows he'd sell some), but nothing ever happened. Maybe nobody told him?

Anyway, I like my idea better, 'cause it actually says something about the site - "Kilts are not a costume"

This is with a tired-late-night-mind... I have a simple, cheap idea.

Raise your hand if you wear hats often, especially at events? I wear hats often cause I am fair-skinned and balding, especially at Highland Games and such cause I am in the sun all day. I will have on either a tam, balmoral, or baseball cap (haven't worn a glengarry since i was a wee lad). Anyway, let's put a small "X" on the back. With my baseball style cap, I would just put a white "X" on the back with fabric paint. For the others, I could just take some white ribbon and just pin and "X" there.

These markings don't need to be huge either cause each of us here will know to look for them. Keeping them small will keep them from looking odd too. And if other people see them and ask, then that gives a great opportunity to promote this forum.

    thoughts?

I've seen a few people wearing the X-mark tee shirt at the highland games. I talked briefly to one of the guys thinking he might be a member of our clan here.

He wasn't a member of the forum and really didn't know about us. He was wearing p***ts and was kind of rude. I guess the p***nts should have been a dead give away.

How about a ball cap with some sort of logo on the front like "Kilts are not a Costume" or "Only Real Men Wear Kilts" as Iolaus and Furry Celt suggested. They wouldn't be expensive and it should be easy to get a limited run. Could Highland Tide do something like this for us?

    ball cap

What about a ball cap with an embroidered design of the Xmarks kilt pin, and the words "Xmarksthescot.com" arched on the back of the cap?

    Cheers,

    Todd

That would be perfect, but we'll probably still have to get approval from the copyright holder for the "XMarksTheScot.Com" part.

If there is a copyright problem, why not just do away with the XMARTHE SCOT.COM and just have an image of the XMARKS pin on the front?
