That would be perfect, but we'll probably still have to get approval from the copyright holder for the "XMarksTheScot.Com" part.

If there is a copyright problem, why not just do away with the XMARTHE SCOT.COM and just have an image of the XMARKS pin on the front?

Without the catch-phrase twist at the end, there might not be a copyright problem.

I did a little digging, and found this from last year:

Well anyway, the guys who did come up with the idea are cool with us using the name and the Saltire as long as they have sole rights to T-shirts. I figured you guys had no problem with this, but even if you do have a problem...oh well!

So if you would like to get a t-shirt that says xmarksthescot then go to www.caberdancer.com . Now if you want one that says www.xmarksthescot.com on it send em an email and tell em!

    Thanks for your support guys!

Here is something I came up with. This isn't a finished hat, just a hat company which would do one hat at a time, or a batch. My idea was a royal blue ball cap with :

XMARKS MEMBER embroderedacross the front in silver, and XMARkS.com across the back. Their price for a single hat is about $21

They also do Logos, butI think they are more expensive. I don't see a problem with copyrights , if we each had our own hat made up. Sometime ago, Hank told me I could make my own personal xmarksthescot.com bumper sticker. I still plan on doing that, but the "KILTIN" Dakota stays in the parking lot at festivals.

I don't know why everyone is worried so much about the copyright issue. Do we even know for sure if that T-shirt that says "X Marks the Scot" is even registered? Further, if no one makes any money off of a "copy", then there is no harm done.

But what we want is something that says: "www.XMarksTheScot.com"; the dot com at the end and the triple wow at the front makes all the difference. That is the name of our forum; we have the right to promote our forum; we are not damaging anyone else's business by doing so.

Heck, I could take my existing hat and get the URL embroidered across the back at one of those kiosks in the mall.

i understand the whole copyright thing but what if we created the logos for a t-shirt and/or a hat and you did with them as you want

All great ideas, but how about a simple solution like we have seen at airports and the like. A sign of letter size cardboard (8 1/2 x 11) that has a simple X on it, just flash it every so often.
