Thanks, all. Yeah, it's a SWK Nightstalker with a Freelander Sporran.
My dad looks that way quite often, it's just his "smiling attentive" look. We had just gotten up from the table and my mom decided to snap a couple of pics, so we weren't exactly "posed."
Grandma's having a great time for 80-something. She had cancelled a trip that I was going to see her off on (a cruise out of L.A.) for health reasons (bad hip) and I went up to vist instead (in case my folks weren't telling me everything). After visiting with her, I think she's got years of life in her, she's just not as mobile as she used to be.
All in all, it was a great visit.
As for the decor... it's a brew-pub/pizza joint in Grant's Pass Or.; not exactly a one stop-light town, but, in some ways, kind of a "60's hippies grow old in Small Town, USA" kind of place.

I wish that I had any of my grandparents left to appreciate my kilt-wearing. I'm sure that my grandfather and grandmother on my mother's side would have loved me in a kilt.
Andrew.

Hear hear!
My paternal grandfather (the Irish one) passed away when my father was a teenager, long before I came along. My other grandparents have all be gone for over 10 years.
You're a lucky man, Iolaus. Spend as much time with your grandma as you can.

I wish I'd gotten into kilts a few years earlier. Her husband, my mother's step-father was the one bit of Scot heritage that I can claim; he was a McKillop. He was the only grandfather I ever knew. I'm sure he would've been thrilled to see me embracing a part of his heritage (his sgian dubh still sits on her entryway table). Sadly, he died about five years ago.

Your dad would look right at home in a kilt. Maybe his expression would change too.

I offered him a UK that I had (temporarily ) shrunk out of, but he declined.
