Glassman - The Magic Castle is a club in LA that is members or invite only. In order to be a member you have to be a magician or illusionist. Like I said I havent been there, but its supposed to be an awesome evening.

Wow, that sounds like a really amazing place. That would make for a fun invite. Although considering how many magicians or illusionists dress for their acts it seems odd that they might have a no-kilts policy.
Also, back to the actual matter of this thread, I may wind up using that picture to convince my partner to let me get a solid color kilt. He's against them since he thinks a kilt has to be tartan, but I'd love to get a khaki or olive green contemporary kilt once my weight stabilizes (I'm actually losing weight!). I think the look is really cool. 8-)

Glassman,
I will add my endorsement to get a solid color kilt! See my other threads on altering a UK, but I have an olive UK that I bought off eBay because it was a great price (well not really in the end!) but also because I love the UK mockers and this one was in olive. Well when it arrived, I was in awe. It is a gorgeous color and I can't wait to wear it. Unfortunately, it is a trifle small (but getting closer everyday), and I have the unexpected jones of having a kilt in hand but unable to fit into it. I actually can put it on and snap it up, and it is not too tight, but I think it is just a little too tight to be comfortable in for the whole day. I am hoping that another 203 weeks will have me wearing it proudly. Unfortunately, that probably means some of my other kilts will need to be modified to be smaller! Auuuuggghhh!!!!

The kilt concealed a blaster strapped to his thigh. Lazarus Long
