I know some folks don't like the drumming sound of the tassels and fasten them down with BlueTac or rolled up scotch tape. Other folks have said the like the drumming sound. It starts to get to me after awhile, so I use the scotch tape fastening method.
A small spot of rubber cement under each tassel works as well, plus is easily removed.
