tartan choices... HAHAHAHA. We got a New tartan swatch book from MM, 1 from Strathmore, 1 from a WELSH tartan company and ordered 6 from HOE. Choices?!?! Choices we gots...

The Casual and Semi Trad pics are down... Hank is on it. We had a few that weren't on the site that he's going to add. Should be fixed soon.

YES, we FOUND a source for 16 oz PV. We WON'T be using it. I got the swatches in the mail today. They are NOWHERE NEAR the quality we're aiming for and people have come to expect from us. In the past (1.5 years ago), we made a conscious decision to really "Step up" our cloth choices. We've been "weeding out" the poorer quality materials we have and going forward, will only buy PV and materials we deem "high quality" for our casual and Semi Trad kilts. The 16 oz PV we got in the mail was a Pakistani source (where, to my knowledge, ALL of the 16 oz PV is made). It was not teflon coated and had a strange feel to it. It was loosely woven (compared to MM PV) and didn't look like it would hold up well to repeated washings.

Welsh Tartans Available (woven BY Welsh people in WALES):

St David's National tartan of Wales
    Powys
    Pride of Wales
    Jones
    Davies/davis
    Williams
    Evans/Bevan
    Eynon/Beynon
    Edwards
    Ellis
    Griffiths
    Harry/Harris/Parry
    Hopkins
    Howell/Powell
    Hughes/Pugh
    James
    Jenkins
    Lewis
    Llewellyn
    Lloyd
    Meredith
    Morgan
    Morris
    Owen/Bowen
    Phillips
    Pope
    Protheroe
    Rees/Preece
    Rice/Price
    Richards/Pritchard
    Roberts/Probert
    Rosser/Prosser
    Thomas
    Vaughan
    Watkins/Walters
    Wynn/Gwynn

The only problem with them (as told to me by the owner of the company)... they're expensive (my cost... puts them at the "higher end" of our wool kilt prices) and they do NOT come with a kilting selvedge edge. They must be hemmed.

If you have any ones you particularly want, let me know (don't think I don't see the "edwards of wales" on your "want" list in your sig)!

So we're all waiting to see what goodies will come....update the website asap, eh?

And I have an Evans buddy who I'm slowly converting to the kilt and a friend's wife who's a Davies...will the Welsh stuff be availble in the ladies line as well?

Good call on the 16oz PV...if it's nae Scots, it's...well, we all know the rest of that...but glad that you take this so seriously that you'd reject any fabric that wasn't up to snuff.

    Best

    AA
