The olive mocker is great to dress up. The Nighwatch Mocker was something that I wanted because for a while I wasn't into the Original (although the corduroy kinda changed that perspective) as much and they only made Originals out of the Nightwatch fabric. I asked if they would do a Nightwatch Mocker for me and got the approval right before they ran out of fabric so mine will be a cousin to your bro-in-law's...

It's hard to make that comparison, because they're two completely different animals. The SWK is a very good value for the money - it's a traditional for under $100 - but it's got no pockets, and the fabric has a higher possibility for snags. The UK has pockets, so no sporran is needed, but it'll never look like a traditional; when you wear it "dressed up", you'll be giving the nod to tradition, but you'll definitely be modern.

I will echo what Iolaus said in comparing a UK and a SWK. Both are kilts, but they are entirely differently made. Jerry has managed to provide an extremely good value product, don't know how he does it.

I ordered the heather grey mocker for the very reason that it looks like a Utilikilt that you could dress up. I like the idea of the somewhat spartan look of the design, dressed in heather grey. When I get it, I'll wear it with solid polos, or checked, button downs, kilt hose, and flashes. No kilt pin though due to the narrow apron. I'll do the same with the Amerikilts that are due tomorrow. I plan to even try a kilt pin on the Amerikilts due to the wider apron.

I wear the XMarks pin with my black AK. Looks great. Wish I had a good picture to share to show you.

It's good to see you have a nice variety of kilts that can be used for different ocassions. I'm very pleased with my black mocker, although it seems to attract lint more quickly than my other UK's. Well, that's what I get for living with hairy animals.

Philbo, what is the kilt you are wearing in the picture "My son and I on Storm Castle Mountain."

    Thanks.

Well, I decided why settle one just one Utilikilt (heather grey mocker) when you can have two for almost twice the price? I ordered an olive original today.
