    Some great news

We have a friend who is now unfortunately a single parent mum. Her son who is 14yrs has a school 'prom' this Fri. They have hired a Cilt/Jacket etc etc for him to wear, as that is what he wants. His surname is Elliot and his mums family are Irish. His mother is so proud that he has decided to wear a Cilt. He had three other friends who were going to do the same, but they have backed out. He has hired a Cilt once before for a family wedding. I seen them last night and told him how proud Elaine and myself were of him going to his proms in his Cilt regardless. He will be defn the only guy there in a Cilt. This is another man's man in the making here. They did'nt hire the Cilt from the Tartan Centre but from another mens outfitters in the town. They said the Cilt is Black with a slight bit of grey in it. Any ideas anyone what that could be? My wife thought the tartan sounds 'cool'.

His friends will probably wish they had worn the cilt after they see how popular he will be at the prom.8-)

I don't know what the kilt with the black and grey would be, but the piper at our U.P. Burn's Supper is an Elliott.

Disregard the red flannel shirt. The Elliot tartan itself is pretty cool.

why oh why do i have the Monty Python Lumberjack song going thru my head right now.....

    I'm a lumberjack and I'm OK
I sleep all night and I work all day.

    Chorus:
    He's a lumberjack and he's OK
He sleeps all night and he works all day.

I cut down trees, I eat my lunch
    I go to the lavatory.
On Wednesdays I go shopping and have buttered scones for tea
    ITS A KILT, G** D*** IT!

Great story Derek! I do wish him well and of course his date may wish that he didn't wear the Cilt.

And now, I have it in my head... and with 5.5 hours left in my work day.

Oh well, could be worse... I could have some Whitney Houston song stuck in my head.

    Addendum:

I'm glad to hear young guys wanting to wear kilts. Derek, did you catch why those other guys backed out? I am curious as to the reason.

(ggrrr... i hate the way my brain works sometimes, now i have another Monty Python song stuck in my head: "Isn't it awfully nice to have a p....")
