I'll try tomorrow...my rugby team is having a bar night so I may wear it there with a nice white t-shirt, my Doc Martens, and the black leather blazer I bought at the Leather School in Florence, Italy -- a combination of the mod and traditional all in one...

I misjudged the waist size a little but after a couple of days eating jello and sorbet after my nose and throat surgery next week it will fit PERFECTLY...

According to the ebay site, it's a Standard kilt....It's rather light but VERY soft....

I would say that a Stillwater uses traditional styling on a non-traditional material.

I agree that the Stillwater standards are traditional style and non-traditional material. The material is acrylic, but looks and feels similar to wool. Also, per and e-mail from Jerry, he said the standards are approximately 10 oz. So, they are very much like a light weight 10 oz wool kilt traditional kilt. But, be careful of snags. You can easily snag the acrylic material. I have 5 Stillwaters (1 heavyweight and 4 standards), and love them all.

Yeah I already snagged a couple of times last night as i was trying to get out the thread holding the pleats down for shipping but nothing very noticeable. It's definitely acrylic material and ver light....but very comfortable. I don't have any traditional kilt pins so pulled out a AIDS ribbon pin I was given many years ago that was crafted by doctors in southern Africa who are working to fight the AIDS virus there (education, treatment, etc) and put that where the kilt pin would normally go...
