    No, it has to be a halogen....much more economical

    Being a former professional lighting designer, I feel compelled to point out that both "lamp" and "bulb" are correct. If the item is plugged in, it is a "lamp"; if it is screwed in it is a bulb.

    BTW, Vanderbilt U. has figured out how to make white light with LEDs, but someone's got to figure out how to do it commercially.

    Will that have bearing on this thread?

    LEDs are not bubls.

    I hate to replace a light bulb....wife nagging for days....find the right replacement bulb...dozens of new light bulbs, but the type you need is always...not there...wife comes back from shopping...wrong bulb...I go....2 bottles of malt and a couple of lightbulbs...spares...they wont trick me again...I replace it...wife makes jokes about me being her hero...problem solved..."poof!"
