The warm welcome is much appreciated!
I'm only about 2 hours from the South Shoreline, KiltedCodeWarrior and I have a kilted friend in Chicago. I don't get there nearly enough.
We are having a mild winter. Usually, you wouldn't be able to see my boots at this time of year. I lived in the Upper Pennisula of Michigan for several years, and there you wouldn't have been able to see the bottom of my kilt . I miss the clean air up there.
The kilt has aged quite well, in fact I've worked at aging it a little more. It's still a little stiff. My friend that ordered his with mine is in similar condition to what you described Rigged. What you can't see is the 3 inch rip under my right hand and the 3 missing snaps. Nothing too terrible, but the picture is a bit missleading.
I've been growing the goatee for like 2 or 3 years. The Cherokee blood is to blame that it took so long and is kinda thin, but it also gives it its strength. And with any luck I'll end up like my grandfather who just died, still a full head of hair in his late 80s .
No, no one has ever told me I look like Teddy Roosevelt, but my dad (who looks alot like me) played him in a play once (Arsenic and Old Lace). So it makes since.
You really know how to make a guy feel welcome around here
