    Tucson...

I'm guessing your question concerns the reaction you'd get to wearing a kilt in Tucson. I haven't been to the Old Pueblo for quite a few years & never while wearing a kilt, but Tucson tends to be a more liberal, laid-back town than Phoenix, so your kilt shouldn't be any problem, especially if you're around the UofA area. I have noticed, though, that a lot of Latinos have a hard time accepting what to them is a guy in a skirt. I surmise that this reaction has its roots in the machismo attitude still very prevalent in the Hispanic culture. As long as you don't wear a kilt in the barrio, everything should be cool.
Ironically, one of the commanders of the Spanish Presidio [fort] of Tucson was Hugo O'Connor, an exiled Irishmen in the service of the Spanish crown! (I know, the Irish didn't wear kilts at that time, but it's still ironic!)

The Spanish could not pronounce his last name, so they called him "Oconor".

    Cheers,

    Todd
