    A surprise at home...

So I just got home from work and there's a fedex box in front of my apartment door. I know it can't be my pinstripe mercy kilt since they just shipped it today so I opened it up and out fell a note in my sister's handwriting:

"Something for you to lounge around in while you recuperate from surgery and maybe wear to a rugby match or two"

Inside was a Sportkilt in my rugby team's colors of blue and gold (and explains why she asked what my team colors are)....of course I immediately put it on...it's very light and perfect to wear in the summer or just around the house..it will never be mistaken for a real kilt but it's fun and I may purchase one on my own in a few months ...I'll just have to sew some weights into it so it doesn't fly away in the breeze....

So this officially makes it kilt #9 with #10 being the Mercy kilt coming in and #11 the custom Nightwatch Mocker I'm getting in May....only 50 more to go to get up there with Hamish and some of you.....

I wish my sisters would do something like that for me, but I am not going to hold my breath.

Every time someone gets close to catching up with Ham on Kilts he seems to get about 5 more within a week. However it is a noble goal that we can all aspire to.

Now is your (and everyone else's) opportunity then Glen! At the moment, I have nothing on order at all - no kilt, jacket, shirt, tie, hose, flashes, belt, kilt pin, sporran ..... nothing at all. However, I am meeting with Howie (TFCK) two weeks today, and, once Utilikilts gets its on-line ordering facility up and running again............;) ;)

I wore SportKilts in public for several months (the sewn down pleat versions with belt loops). Everyone who commented on them called them kilts, and all the comments were very positive. They are not tanks, but in my opinion, they are indeed causal kilts. In fact, the way the front aprons are constructed, you have 4 layers of material and is actually heavier in front than my Stillwater standards, but the back is considerably lighter. They are nice for casual wear. I've sold all mine, save one in favor of Stillwaters, Amerikilts, and Utilikilts.
