Could 'The Pub' not take the place of 'Kilt Auctions' which has never been used, or 'The Swap Shop' which has only ever had 4 threads or come to that 'the chat room' which seems to be used very infrequently. Just suggestions, but I'll go along with whatever Hank reckons we ought to do though.

Is that $8 a year or a month?

Shay,
Unless I am mistaken, that is a one-time charge, although there are usually recurring fees for both the software (for maintenance and upgrades) and the domain name. Perhaps Hank is willing to pick those up as they are usually minor?

It will be a one time fee. I will pick it up after the initial costs are taken care of. I am going to post a new thread about the Pub but for those keeping an eye on this thread, here is a link:

Is that an invitation, by the way? It's very kind of you. Thank you - I'll have a large one! ;);)

I am a 'red' man myself, Rob. Whites are for quaffing at picnics in very hot weather (an alternative to iced water!!). Yes, I'll agree that a nice Merlot takes some beating (but why wait for a special occasion? ;)).

Ah! You have the advantage of me there, 646. I've never had the opportunity to visit any of the great classic wine-producing areas of the world. Although I worked in the wine trade for a number of years, back in the 1960s (I was with Harvey's of Bristol - the famed 'Bristol Cream' sherry people), we were not sent to see 'how it was done', but were given lectures and slide shows instead!! In those days, Californian wines were unheard of in the United Kingdom and just one Australian burgundy (Burgoyne's) was imported (and it was ghastly!!). France, Italy and Germany were our providers.
Pass me that bottle of Barolo, and the corkscrew, please poppet.
