Are Campbells still not Welcome
I'm not aware of anywhere in Scotland where your name makes any difference to your welcome. There are plenty of MacDonalds living in Campbeltown nowadays and Campbells living near Glencoe. I suspect the pub sign in Glencoe referred to is no more than a tourist gimmick; they'd have no way of enforcing it since they don't ask customers their names, and most people don't wear tartan. Theoretically clan rivalry may still continue in some distant village at the head of a remote glen but if it does I've certainly never come across it and I've lived in Scotland all my life. Oh and if you do visit Campbeltown, try to go at least one way by 'plane. The twenty minute flight from Glasgow Airport is one of the most scenic, crossing the West Renfrewshire Hills, Firth of Clyde, Isle of Arran and Kilbrannan Sound, then you come in over Davaar Island and Campbeltown Harbour before landing at Campbeltown Airport. Loganair fly the route twice daily using De Havilland Canada Twin Otter aircraft.
