guys,
I've got a PM into Hank for approval of my design.
Yes, I know I could do whatever I want with this patch, but this forum is Hank's baby and I like it here. (that's why I give him my money each month to be a sponsor of this site.) So I think it only polite to ask him for his approval.
As soon as we have it, I'll let everyone know and I'll start a run of them for sale. My machine (I named her Minerva for you Heinlein fans) is not one of those fancy ones with all the different thread colors pre-loaded. I have to change colors manually. I think I could turn out three or four a day by jumping up and changing colors in between kilt making.
Thanks for all the good comments. This is just a first run of the patch. Keep the comments coming and I'll incorporate what I can.
I have done a few other Clan Crests for customers. The basis of all Clan Crests is a circled belt. The gold thread is to denote the belt buckle and the metal thingy on the loose end of the belt.
The normal size for Crests used for cap badges and stuff, is about 2 inches so that is why I made it small. I could of course, make them any size. The lettering would look really good if the whole thing were about 3" in Dia.
The colors are just the thread I had on hand and it could really could be almost any colors. It was a kind of mental exersize to see if I could do it. Thanks for the tip about using a blue cloth background.
I just wanted to see what everyone thought. I'll keep working on it.
