And if you have a choice (i.e., you're between sizes from a kiltmaker who makes kilts in standard waist sizes, rather than custom fit), get the larger one, not the smaller one. You can always move the buckles a bit, and no one will notice. If you get the smaller one, and the underapron shows a bit, it will look too small. If it's custom fit, I agree - give them whatever measurement they ask for.
