I agree, it's definitely not painful at all. I believe that earlier in this thread, someone said it would work with astigmatism. I was far sighted, and it did work on my eyes. The most uncomfortable thing about the whole procedure to me was having to wear the eye shields at night to prevent "eye rubbing" while sleeping.

Glad to hear that everything is OK, and glad that you can see clearly.

The surgery is not painful. The part that bothered me the most was when the Dr. put the lens cutter on my eye. During this procedure they create a suction on the eye to hold it in place. I couldn't see a thing but I could hear the cutter going around my eye. After that I could see him pull the lens back and then I just looked at the orange light. Then the clicking sound of the laser and the smell of the laser burning my eye. That took about 10 = 15 seconds. and then he cleaned my eye and put the lens back in place. he then removed the device that holds your eyelid open and started on the other eye. The entire procedure took about 10 minutes. It sounds worse than it was and if you watch one being done it looks worse than it was. So far it has not been bad at all. The recovery is pretty easy. Just have to put drops in my eyes 4 times a day and wear the protective eyewear while I sleep. I have noticed that my eyes seem to be getting tired earlier than I am ready to go to bed but I think that it will get better each day. Until yesterday, I had worn either glasses or contacts for the last 40 years. It is worth it to be free of them.

Are the protective eyewear like contacts?

    Snipe,

I am glad to hear your procedure went well. It only gets better from here. It's funny how each day you notice more a more improvement as your eye heals. Again I will emphasize...follow all the post-op instructions and you will be amazed by the results.

I will be two years in May and I still find myself looking at things and thinking holy @$%& I can't believe how clear that is.
