    Good Gaelic song for wedding?

My financee and I are looking for a good Gaelic song appropriate for a wedding, and we would like to know if anyone has any suggestions. My brother is singing at our wedding, and we need to find something for him so he can start working on it.

    Many thanks!

A few come to mind, but they might cause your dear bride to run from the chapel.... ;)

    I assume you mean Scottish...
    Here are some:
    Màiri's Wedding (Lewis Bridal song)
    Queen of Argyll
An cluinn thu mi, mo nighean donn?
    Màiri Bhàn Òg
    Amazing Grace (makes good processional)
    Highland Wedding
My love is like a red, red rose
Green grow the rushes (Robert Burns)
Òran na bainnse (The wedding song); in Gaelic Songs in Nova Scotia
    (Creighton and MacLeod)

Robert Burns is a good source too.
    hope this helps

The Scotsman is always a good choice.
On a more serious note, Wild Mt. Thyme-Brobidnagian Bards sounds like it may work.

Since I am half Scot and my bride mostly Irish we mixed it up a bit. John McDermott's version of "Sky Boat song". Played during the candle lighting before the ceremony. My Groomsmen and I came in to "Rogues of Scotland" (more on that farther down). The processional was a pipe and orchestra version on "Highland Cathedral". During the ceremony "Red Red Rose", "Carrickfergus" and the Navy Hymn were played. The recessional was a pipe version of "Highland Wedding".

The wedding and reception was in the Ballroom of the Trumbo Officers club. Normally at a wedding, the groom and groomsman are already in place when the "show" begins (waiting like lambs to the slaughter). When "Rogues" started playing, we marched into the ballroom, made an immediate right turn to the bar where 4 shots of single malt were waiting. We toasted, downed the scotch and then took our places at the "alter".

I have mp3's of the songs if you want a listen. I'll email you a clip 'cause I know you would of course 'buy' the cd if you wanted to use any of them ;)
