I used to frequent a Yahoo Groups message board about a particular style of non-traditional kilts.
While I liked the kilt brand in question, I got fed up with the bickering, rudeness and general intolerance of many of the board participants.
Then someone made a somewhat disparaging comment about this site as being "too civilized."
I signed up and haven't regretted a second of it!!
Last September at the Fort Erie Celtic Festival I stopped at Robert Pel (RKilts)'s booth and spent a good 15-20 minutes just talking with him. He mentioned XMarks. Then a couple of hours later I was on the other side of the field at the Canadian Casual Kilts booth, run by MacHummel and his wife, and she mentions XMarks, how they're a great bunch of guys - including Robert. Before I was interested, now I was curious - what kind of place is this, where sellers who normally would be fighting for your business are selling up the competition. I had to stop and see this for myself. And now you're all stuck with me.
I was searching for casual kilts when I came upon the the forum's list of casual kiltmakers. I decided to look around to see what else they had. Lurked for a couple of months then signed on.

Hmmm. I had ordered a Utilikilt and found the UK site for them. It was a bit er...unruly (myself included) and someone mentioned XMarks. Here I am. The best run site on the web as far as I'm concerned.
