Welcome Dale, from the South of England.
I have to agree with KiltedCodeWarrior: Utilikilts, whilst wonderful garments to wear (I've several of them), are basically cotton or cotton-blend fabrics and, as such cannot be as warm as even a light or mid-weight wool. We are in the middle of a mild spell here and today I wore my Chocolate brown Workman's Utilikilt outside for the first time this year. It was cosy in the warm sunshine but, if it turns frosty again next week, I'll be back in wool. ;)
