While neither was labelled, I took them to be Black Watch and Royal Stewart. What else would they stock if they wanted a couple of "universal" tartans to sell to tourists? Secondly, that picture doesn't pick up all the colours. Under a good light I can see red, white, yellow, black and blue.
On the other hand it wouldn't break my heart if it were something else. I guess until an expert chimes in here we will have to let it be just another of the mysteries in my closet. But thanks for the input, guys.

I think that what the rest of us needed was a close-up of the kilt. On my monitor I just can't see all the colors on the kilt photo.
