Why should such crimes have an impact on kilt wearers? The overwhelming majority of crimes is commited while wearing pants and it's had no impact on pants wearers.

I don't see it reflecting on kilt wearers particularly any more than it will reflect on beer drinkers. It's simply a crime committed by a very twisted mind.
