Jacobite shirts?

In another thread, bubba complained about somebody wearing "a kilt, but with a Jacobite shirt and running shoes." Okay, I see the problem with the shoes, but what is the problem with a Jacobite shirt?

I'm new to all this.

I would have more of a problem with the running shoes because that would just look odd. Maybe he was running in a marathon?

I don't mind the shirts, but I do acknowledge that they look out of place in a modern setting. I reserve mine for when I'm trying to look "period".

To wear them with running shoes just isn't right.
