    Two nice encounters

so I'm walking across the Plaza here at the Big U. and I see our Dept. Secretary headed my way. "Hi Becky, how's it going' whatcha doin' blah blah"

Up behind comes someone, who then stops. I feel the pressure of eyes on me bum. I turn around, and here's a lovely lass checking out the Holyrood. Hello, says I. We had a lovely chat. Turns out she's the doyenne of the local Highland Dance club and the secretary of the local Shinty league. She gave me her card and said "come on down and watch a practice sometime".

    Whaddya know?

And today, so I'm walking across campus over to Parking and Transportation to pick up a mess 'o stickers and this hot red mustang comes by....stops, and the window rolls down.

    Oh

    My

    God.

I am in love. She's *cough cough*

    *faints*

gorgeous....little white gloves on (I'ts COLD here in Nor California) blonde hair, pretty smile, big blue eyes. One of you young unattached bucks needs to move here and meet this one.

    "What tartan is that?"

...and we had a nice chat while five minjutes worth of cars went around her Mustang, which was blocking the left lane. . She works in Community Development, has a couple of tartans skirts and promises she'll come to our next Stanford Kilted Dudes coffee in one of her skirts, especially if we do it soon, 'cause it's COLD.

Neither of these memorable encounters would have happened if I hadn't been kilted.

The Kilt, ever the traffic stopping conversation starter garment that it is. Well done Alan.

Hey Alan, what time is that next Stanford Kilted Dudes meeting?

I've definitely noticed that a kilt lets me talk to girls way out of my league. It's even better when they're with a guy who asks me why I wear a kilt and I tell them, "Girls dig them," and give the girl a wink. They almost always nod in agreement and give me that knowing smile.

    Yo A-man

Ya gotta get her out to one of the kilt nights, I wouldn't even mind that she drives a ford ...

Congratulations on two exceptionally good encounters. For as long as I live and wear the kilt, I will still continue to be amazed about the fact that these type of conversations would not even take place if we were wearing trousers.
