Thanks, I haven't taken it out for a spin in real life yet as a sporran, it's worked great as a "possibles bag."
Wanna see how it works when sitting down, might be kind of like having a baby or a cat in my lap.
As you might have figured out, I have a LOT of fashion freedom out here in the boondocks. More interested in what works, than "proper" dress or look.
Wearing the kilt daily the biggest objection I have to my tartan kilts is not having a convenient way to carry my "stuff."
And, I really have wandered into the tack shops to check out saddlebags and see if they could be split and used as sporrans...
There was a time in the 70s in corporate America when I was burdoned with huge sample cases that there was no way to carry a brief case too so I used regular saddlebags as a briefcase. Just slung the saddlebag over my shoulder and pushed the two big wheeled sample cases. Wore a three piece suit at the time. Was working in New York City. The saddle bags started a few conversations with prospects.
Suppose I could just use a pair of saddlebags as a "sporran" and carry them over my shoulder.

Hmmmm, I may have to make the rounds of the thrift shops again and look over the handbag selection.

LOL I have to agree with yuo on that one...I have my first sporran enroute but when I wore my Stillwater Blackwatch out and realized I had no pockets to put my wallet in, it was more than a little frustrating....

I say, what ever works for you. It's big, but doesn't look bad. Much bigger than I would ever need for myself - I have a Buzz Kidder Country Sporran that is more than adequate for what I carry. When I wear my AK's, the matching cloth sporran and the back pocket give me even more carrying capacity than my Buzz Kidder sporran.

You could split the saddle bags and fold over the tops to form a belt loop then wear a bag on each side like holsters I'd pitty your lower back though if you really loaded them down.

Are you trying to tell us you NEED a sporran that big?
Reminds me of the time Burt Reynolds did a nude center-fold for Cosmopolitan magazine. In the picture, he had placed his hand in front of his family jewels. He was on the Johnny Carson show and Johnny said that if he had done that, he would have needed to wear a catcher’s mitt.

Need the big sporran for things like wandering around Highland Games all day with camera, water, sunscreen, et.al.
Now, as for the "need" you'll have to talk to my lady about that, if you can get the smile off her face so she can speak....

Most of the time, the Buz Kidder Country Sporran is enough for me. There are times though when I would like a little more space, like when I carry my camera. Technically, I can fit everything (wallet, keys, camera, and "miscellaneous") in the sporran, but I have to unload things to find what I'm after. It would be really nice to be able to reach into the sporran and get what I want.
I can see it now, men buying bigger and bigger sporrans as a status symbol and bragging about the size of their sporran.

Hey Dave,
I have a couple Buzz Kidders and a couple Freelanders. I have the same deal with both sporrans having to rummage through stuff, and with the BK I can barely get my hand in the opening...big paws.
The bigger sporran deal got me to sorta remembering something from college history or literature about the Greeks cutting sillouettes out of "huge" bits and hanging them under their skirts then standing with their back to the sun so their enemy was intimidated by the apparent size of their boy parts...might have the players wrong on this...a dusty memory...
