Right on--surely we've all noticed how a kilt makes even those of us who aren't young and pretty anymore into someone at least interesting, if not downright handsome.

Also, I think kilts look more proportional on wider, shorter guys if they're a bit long. Because of the way my body is shaped, a kilt that hits the top of my knees looks wider than it is long.

    I look like I'm wearing a mini-skirt.

No! No pictures! Get back in your cage, you beast!

Great movie for those of you who haven't seen it. I've enjoyed the whole series. Maybe someday I'll get to reading the books. I've read Tokein's Trilogy 7 times. They did a good job with movies for that series of books too. No kilts though.

BTW - the Harry Potter books are MUCH better than the movies - much richer & detailed beyond belief... and when viewed from an adult perspective can be very enjoyable!!!

I used to think I was paranoid , but , that was when everyone was out to get me

Have read the LOTR trilogy 3 times - the Hobbit twice - could NOT get thru Simarillion (sp?) for the life of me - too many names etc. Loved the movies hope Peter Jackson takes on the Hobbit in the near future.
As for the HP books YOU GOTTA read them - the HP movies were good - the books are miles ahead !!! Yes it will take a way from your kilt wearing/shopping/making time but it would be time well spent!

You've a ways to go then. I've read the LOTR 15 times, the Hobbit 17 times and the Sumarillion 3. I get something new each time I read them. Tsk, and you call yourself a geek

I am so ashamed at my lack of commitment to the Tolkien legacy i hereby turn in my ring replica and hobbit feet and will nevermore associate myself with middle earth...

but then again that will just leave me more time for KILT MAKING!!!

I have to admit that I've read and reread the entire Tolkien collection so many times that I really can't even manage a guess at the number. Whenever my life seems to be getting too hectic and too nightmarish I tend to shut down everything else and go curl up in a corner with hot chocolate, good pipes, and the books for weeks on end until I've reread every last one. Forces a great long break on me and drives everyone else absolutely insane!

Some people read Tolkien over and over, for me it's The original Dune Trilogy and Stranger In A Strange Land.

Rowling needs to work a bit at her dialog, but otherwise they're fantastic books. The detail was so astounding, you don't notice the book's few flaws.

Jackson and Del Toro are doing the new Hobbit movie, currently set for 2010. There are even rumors that Chris Lee will do the voice-over for Smaug. (god, I need to re-read The Hobbit; I can't spell that name to save my life!)

For the level of Tolkiens writing, I really should have read it more, but as a young, hectic teen, I have no time! I must read all the classics! Bring on the Tolkien, Salvatore, Clarke, Asimov, Hawking, etc.!
