Curling semi-finals
So.....it's US v Canada and UK v Finland.
Well....seems like a semi-final that was just made for this forum.
Hey, Ackwell, way to go Finland! And, of course, best to all our buddies in the UK...may your stones glide across the ice (that's a good thing?).
Of course, it would figure that the US would once again face those maple syrup sipping beaver huggers from the Great White North! Back to hockey, ya overly-polite maple leaf wearers! You people and your metric system....what's with that?
(You know...I just can't go on...Canadians are just so darn nice that it's hard to find taunts that apply to them...)
...oh yeah...and sending that Molson's Golden down here while you were keeping the Molson's Canadian for yourselves...nice try, guys! That's why all of our states are different colors on the map and your whole country is just pink! And you can tell your Air Force to keep those aerobics...we'll just keep on doing...whatever it was we were doing before aerobics....
USA USA USA USA!
Best

Yeah, Finland takes it's only gold from a scottish game wearing trousers... All players of UK curling team are from Scotland by the way... I also have curling practice the coming sunday.
Markku Uusipaavalniemi and Wille Makela will show the scots where ice is invented! HAHA! One good thing about our team is that they are all members of the same club and most have been playing together from around late 1980's.
And of course, our Ice-Hockey team is on fire also! goal difference 19-2. Teemu Selanne 6+3 points, leader of the score ranking. Pretty convincing I think... And by the way, they're gonna kick some serious yankee butt today... ;)
I was already wondering when the Olympic heat starts here... Well, sports is so great!

I sure hope that that Uusipaavalniemi guy doesn't have his name across the back of his jersey!
Lots of stuff in the US media about how the Winter Olympics have lost their appeal...they're in a different time-zone...there's nothing new....
I certainly hope that this sentiment isn't because the US isn't dominating the games...no matter what it's still great to see these athletes - no matter what their country - do their thing so well.

Yeah, Nagano was different time zone for us too but I woke up early every morning to see the games.
And he actually has the name in his jersey...

But after today our hockey team may be gone (not likely....but maybe) of course so may yours (those Darn Finnish). At least we already have one gold in hockey so it is still "our game".
Good Luck to the US, Finland, and the UK teams. Good Curling.
The last Canada-US game was pretty tight up until the last end or two. It will be interesting to see how it turns out. Our women's curling team is now going for bronze.
Go Canada!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Don't you mean Molson I-used-to-be-Canadian? We figured you guys were so deprived of real beer down there, we better send the rubbish ones that don't sell here first, so we don't shock your systems too much
We only picked on colour because the hockey was about to start and we needed to finish early to watch the game
We have an Air Force? Are those the kids with the remote planes in the field by my place? Just Kidding, our Air Force is actually pretty good, it's our Navy that is out rowing in the inflatable rafts (likely bought from Great Britain).

They had women's curling playing on the trading floor this morning. One of teh traders was totally clueless about the sport so I started explaining the rules as I saw on TV a few days before. Soon I had all of the eyes staring at me as if I was in my kilt and had grown nine heads.
"So you've played this before?" one of the traders asked.
*pause*
"Oh yeah...right after I severely sprained my ankle doing some twizzles when I was an ice dancer and had to give that up."
The worst part is...he believed me on the ice dancer part....

You must be talking about the 5BX plan?
I know we had an Air Force when I was in, down to half that now. Which is why I switched to the Mob (RAF) in the late '80s.
As for curling, all I know about it, is that they drink tons of beer...any beer.

WOW! What a game... again! Great play for US but not enought to get it behind Antero Niittymäki at the end! WOW! I am exhilarated... darn! And now I change to watch the curling GBR - FIN...
Curling is a Scottish game from 16th century, played originally at frozen lakes. Wonder if they played it in kilts...

Way to go Finland and to Sweden for making the semi-finals in Hockey. I only hope Russia doesn't send team Canada packing with the US team. I guess we'll find out in an hour or two.

Geez, I only wish our men's hockey team had half the heart of the women. Bunch of overpaid, prima-donnas.
