I was surprised to hear ..

There are several outward bound shops in the city having sales at the moment. So I have treated myself to a new rucksack and walking 'stick'. I was served in the shop by a youngish guy who was very helpful and there was a lady in her 30's behind the counter. The guy never commented on my Cilt, but the lady was more than complimentary about it saying its great to see them being worn. Then in her next sentence she told me she once had a Kilt (a kilted skirt I expect but I never questioned her) but that was a long time ago and that in fact she does not poccess a skirt in wardrobe at all at the present time. Its all jeans and leisure wear. I was really surprised to hear that. We also had a rehearsal last night and Les brought along her Davis shawl that she decided to buy in the end. Whilst it is the same colour spectrum to Elaines 'Jones', they are actually very different in real life. The pictures on Welsh Tartan website are quite dark. On top of that the two girls have INSTRUCTED my pal and other musician that he must organise to get a Cilt/Kilt ASAP! He was going back home and gonna check out EbaY. He told me he was defintely going to purchase now. So all in all, it was an interesting and productive day. Heres me new gear, I did try to smile

    Derek,

Is that walking stick one of the shock type? I have allways wanted one. Oh by the way did your wife find out about the skirt Graham asked about I went to marks & sparks web and did not see that one. I think My wife might be interested.

    Thanks,

    Derek,

A nice tale indeed. I feel that by looking at the picture, you are just about to go walking as soon as the picture is shot, it looks great!

Graham .. You must have missed it, but I did answer your question about Elaines skirt in my other thread. She bought it in M&S quite a few months ago. If you would like Elaine to go and check if any are still about over here just let us know, there could be something similar in other shops too.

Sorry Mr Bill .. forgot to answer your question. Yes the 'stick' is shock absorbent. Its is a Leki. I had one before, they are really good. By the way if you want Elaine to check anything out in M & S over here let us know.

I've seen these as well but since they're not much good for proper ambulatory use, I've never bothered...Personally, I need to use a cane for health reasons but I will say the stick does add to the whole look Derek has going. I just envy that he's capable of using it for its intended purpose.

    Good for you, Derek.

I have to admit when I read MrBill's question I thought it meant the "shock" type as in cattle prod.
