I did almost the same thing. With the vendor standing right next to me, I started looking at a MacDonald kilt for $99. Several of the other tartans next to that pile, including the Camo, had tapered aprons, but for some reason the MacDonalds didn't. I pointed that out to the guy, and told him that I was this close to getting one, but was able to talk myself out of it by noticing that the one I wanted was sub-standard, compared to his other wares. He followed me out of the stall to ask who I was (I didn't tell him) and why I had looked at that particular detail. I gave him a card, and told him that there was a large on-line community that shares info like that, and that he should check out the sorts of things we look for, to improve his business.
