Just got this pic from my lady. Shows the Native Earth 9"x9"x3" #6 pouch worn as a large sporran a bet better. I was just out of the car and didn't have a chance to straighten it up yet, but there's good light on it to show its size.

I really like it. Ordered a black one last week.

Only thing is the Native Earth site if kinda funky/inactive. Go there and get their email (the aol addy) or their 800 number to order.

Keep the sporran big!
When you're on your hikes you won't need to bring a knapsack with you!
Trade the beers for a pint of whiskey and keep your Silva compass, map, fire starter, lunch, sweater, change of socks, first aid kit and knife in your sporran and still have enough room to use it for a sleeping bag!!!

Good advice. Alas I'll still need to carry my pack for the 100' of climbing rope and extra water that I always carry.

One more alternative for hiking that I've used just with trousers but will probably adapt this summer for use with the kilt...

Consider the possibilities of using the military pistol belt, the suspenders and the butt pack as an "auxilliary" rig to the sporan. The pistol belt is made of webbed nylon and is available in black and O.D. The suspenders have a designation something like L-2 and are made of the same basic material....add the butt pack and any pouches that you want to hook on the belt and you can carry a reasonable bunch of stuff. The canateen also has a bag that hooks on the belt.

or look around the local military surplus store. This had worked well for me and saved me from having to carry a small backpack on day trips.

OOOOHHHH... I dont care how many layers of fabric you would have in front there - that would be DAMNED CHILLY - may do wonders for your sperm count but there are limits!!!

Well, I hope this doesn't disappoint too many of you but...

I tried on the new megasporran and it was just too darned big. My wife put it best, and I quote,

"Instead of little kids saying "Look Mommy, that man is wearing a skirt!" you'll hear them say "Look Mommy, that man is wearing a suitcase...and he's wearing a skirt, too!"

Took it apart today, lost 1 to 2 inches in each direction, and I'm much happier. just finished stitching it up and it measures a respectable 7" wide by 9" deep...still on the large size from what I've seen out there.

Now I can only carry two beers....

And Onion, if sperm count becomes an issue with me there will be a surgeon with a lot of explaining to do!
