Ok, So Series 7 (the final one) is running on Monday nights on BBC Canada right now. I don't have the channel, but luckily my folks do and they have been able to tape it for my wife and I.
So while watching episode 2 of the current season, I realized something that really bugs me about Monarch of the Glen. No it is not a accuaracy of Highland life, or the fictional towns, it's the fact that they leave story lines hanging with no further explanation. They seem to spend an entire series building up certian things, only to drop them from any future episodes. For example:
*How did Archie go from Nepal to New Zealand?
*What happened to the wolves sanctuary?
*Where did Kilwhillie's sister disappear to after the one Series she was in?
*Where did Chester and Isobel go from Series 6?
*What happened the the story between Isobel and Paul? or their business partnership for that matter? (ok, so the actress that played Isobel got preggers and wasn't asked back).
*Why no mention of previous charactors (a postcard, etc)? Have these people left Glenbogle, so they are out of the main charactor's lives?
I know that these are minor details (and no, they don't really matter to me), but I really dislike when a show that you have watched for years changes without so much as a "hey what happened to....?".

At least you get to see the episodes in order... Our local PBS station plays them at random... This week series one episode three, next week series four episode two... Makes it a bit of a challenge to keep track of plot lines.

I think Colin has a point, the series could have been written a lot better. The hogmanay special was a bit dissappointing also.
